Burn PS3 Games: Can It Really Be Done?

burn ps3 gamesTechnology has come a long way in the past decade. Two college students created revolutionary software called Napster and those who had dial-up Internet connections could take advantage of downloading music.

That music could be burned to a blank and recordable CD. This method of having access to music was so detrimental that many major recording artists wanted to shut down Napster. No one thought it was possible to even burn items on a CD.

A few years have passed and you can now take advantage of disc imaging software that allows you to burn video games, yes, even PS3 games onto a blank CD or a DVD. Why would someone want to burn PS3 games anyway?

  • It will save you money in the end. Video game consoles, games and peripherals are not cheap and the prices of these items will not change anytime soon.
  • Saves you time. What if one of your games is damaged and you do not have money to buy a new game? You do not even have enough to buy a pre-owned one. It is waste of time to even rent a game on GameFly.
  • Saves you hassle. Is one of your games missing? Did you accidentally replace a game? You do not have to worry about that if you burn PS3 games to a disc!
  • Technology has made everyone’s life easier, especially those that want to copy PS3 games. The software you need to backup PS3 games is self-explanatory. Anyone can copy games. As a reminder, you have to spend a little money. The money you spend will be less than you would spend in the long haul. It will be worth your while.

Things you need to copy PS3 games.

  • Have a CD or DVD burner on your PC.
  • A Blank DVD or CD.
  • Software! Google “disc imaging software” or “iso creator” to get the gist of the software you need. The software is free to use. Some of the software programs do cost money, but it costs less than a video game! I recommend Game Copy Wizard.
  • A PS3 game you own, of course!
  • Wait a second! What is that ISO thingy you talked about earlier?

Oh, an ISO file is a file that copies data from an optical disc (CD or DVD) and you store it on your PC. For example, if I wanted to watch one of my movies on my PC on Windows Media Player and did not feel like inserting the DVD into my PC, I can make a copy of that movie so I can watch it anytime I want without the actual movie disc.

It is extremely convenient. You create an ISO file in the disc imaging software by inserting your PS3 game into your DVD-ROM drive and then you burn the ISO on a DVD or CD. That’s it! It is as simple as counting to three!

The software you use is so easy. If you like to save money, and time, you can burn PS3 games so you can have an extra copy handy in case of an emergency.
