I am an avid video gamer. I have had every system known to humankind and I buy games in multiples. Prices for video games have not changed since I was a child. Well, I take that back, the games have gone down by 10 percent (70 to 60 dollars).
I have a Sony PlayStation 3, or PS3 for short, and it is the best system ever made. Everyone has a busy life. Either you are working 10 or more hours a day, go to school, or do all of the above. Many of us do not make that much money to purchase PS3 games.
One way for gamers to avoid paying for games or purchasing a newer game when the older game is scratched is to backup games. How does a person copy PS3 games? It is easy as pie. You do not have to be advanced in computers to backup PS3 games. Anyone can backup their games.
What do you need to burn PS3 games?
- CD or DVD burner
- Blank CD or DVD that is recordable. I recommend dual layer DVDs since the larger PS3 games can fit on the entire disc and you do not have to use two separate discs for one game.
- CD burning software.
- When you backup PS3 games onto a CD or DVD, you are making an exact replica of your PS3 games. This is called an ISO or disc image. All the data on your PS3 games are backed up on your CD or DVD. You have the ability to create multiple copies of your games without purchasing newer versions of your games.
- How do you copy PS3 games?
- Insert your PS3 game into your CD/DVD-ROM drive. Close the tray when you are finished.
- Go to “Windows Explorer,” the location on your computer that shows your “C:” disk and your disk drives. Your PS3 game should show up in your Windows Explorer.
- Download and install software that allows you to backup PS3 games. Some recommended programs for backup games: Game Copy Wizard MagicISO, PowerISO, or equivalent.
- Open the software such as MagicISO. Go to “File” and then “Open” to add the PS3 game you want to backup.
- Go to the toolbar and go to an option that says something similar to “Create ISO.” As a reminder, an ISO is replicated data, meaning the ISO is on your computer hard drive. This is similar to “ripping” your music CD onto your computer using iTunes and the songs remain on your hard drive. You need this ISO on your hard drive, so you can burn the PS3 game onto a CD or DVD.
- Take out your PS3 game from your CD/DVD-ROM and then insert the blank and recordable CD or DVD. Go to the toolbar of the software and click on the option that says “burn.” The burning process takes a few hours, depending on the size of the game.
Backup PS3 games saves you money, time, and heartache.
